Commissions

Commissioning art is a wonderful way to get a unique piece tailored to your tastes. Here’s a general overview of the process:

  1. Initial Inquiry: Reach out to me with your idea via email at hyssopart@gmail.com Provide as much detail as possible about what you’re looking for. Include reference photos, if you have them at the highest quality you are able to achieve. With some older photos compromise will need to be made in detail but they come out with their own unique style. I have examples if needed. If commissioning a scripture sign, please include your scripture(s) you would like made into art.  If you have a color palette in mind or a pattern you would like incorporated. The current premade sizes are 12x12, 20x20, and 24x24 if you would like a custom size built please include the size you are looking for

  2. Discussion and Agreement: I will discuss the project with you, including the subject matter, style, size, and any specific requirements. This is also the time to talk about the budget, timeline, and payment terms. Once everything is agreed upon, an agreement will be signed

  3. Deposit: I require a deposit before starting the work. This is typically a percentage of the total cost.

  4. Concept and Sketches: I will create initial sketches or concepts based on your discussion. You’ll have the opportunity to review these and provide feedback.

  5. Creation: Once the concept is approved, I will begin the actual creation of the piece. Depending on the complexity, this can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.

  6. Progress Updates: I may provide updates and photos of the work in progress depending on the length and complexity of the project or if requested to do so. This allows you to see how the piece is coming along and make any minor adjustments if necessary.

  7. Final Approval and Payment: Once the artwork is completed, you’ll review the final piece. If you’re happy with it, the remaining balance is paid.

  8. Delivery: I can arrange for the delivery or pickup of the artwork. This will include shipping if you’re not local.

  9. Feedback and Promotion: I appreciate feedback and may ask for a testimonial or permission to share the commissioned piece on my social media or portfolio.
